RANGELAND MANAGEMENT

Rangelands are of utmost importance in enhancing the co-production of ecosystem services such as wildlife habitat, predators, pollinators, or endangered species of plants and animals. We are working to ensure habitat conservation and restoration by training the local community on proper rangeland management.

PASTURE MANAGEMENT

FEES is training the local Maasai in various new approaches to rangeland management, such as rotational grazing, where some areas are set aside from livestock during the wet season to allow grasses to grow to be used during the dry season. We also work with the community to ensure that they grow modern fodder grasses that will sustain livestock all year round and thus lower livestock mortality.

RESTORATION PROGRAM

We help restore habitats by providing the community with tree seedlings to plant in areas denuded by various human activities.
