Developing education is a key to helping successive generations overcome their history of poverty. FEES promotes and supports opportunities for all in education by enabling more children, particularly girls, to attend school for longer, so that, better educated, they have the tools to rise out of poverty.
Education also helps to enlighten attitudes toward environmental conservation, wildlife protection, equity, community health, the empowerment of women, good governance, and overall sustainable development. Through workshops, seminars and film shows, FEES provide education and awareness about conserving natural resources and using them sustainably.
Sinya ward has three villages Nderemeta, Oldonyo and Oldonyomali that depend on one primary school for education. Long distances and dangerous wild animals impede access to education to younger children, especially in Oldonyomali the furthest village from this shared school. FEES and QOA Association are building a nursery school in Oldonyomali to provide easier, safer access to primary schooling in this marginalized community.
In partnership with primary and secondary schools environmental conservation teachers, FEES is looking forward to developing a syllabus that will educate students on the benefits and practices of conserving natural resources and protecting the environment. We also aim to implement a school tree planting program that will inculcate the spirit of conserving wildlife from an early age.
FEES' community outreach programs spread new conservation techniques to students, village leaders and others concerned with the benefits of environmental conservation. We host and coordinate study tours for education groups in schools and villages, and support training to the school's conservation groups by bringing in experts to teach groups and community leaders. We provide a conservation education syllabus and host an annual conservation day in schools and villages in Enduimet.
Sports and games unite youth through regular social interaction and improve their health and ability to contribute to the community development.
FEES has initiated conservation football teams in Enduimet division. FEES provides the teams with various sports facilities. The conservation teams receive basic training in conservation approaches and benefits, which helps them to spread the importance of conservation.
