ABOUT US

The Foundation for Economic and Environmental Stewardship (FEES) is a non-profit, non-religious, non-partisan, non-governmental organization that works to develop local environmental conservation projects. We focus on reducing local communities’ dependence on natural resources through education and economic diversification.

FEES works with marginalized and vulnerable communities, teaching entrepreneurial skills, gender issue awareness, environmental conservation, natural resource management, health issues and new approaches to sustainable education. We identify opportunities and obstacles in development (O&OD), and communicate them with proven projects, seminars, workshops, symposia, and advocacy throughout Tanzania.

ESTABLISHMENT:

Emmanuel J. Silayo conceived FEES after observing that economy and environment are two sides of the same coin. Pursuing purely economic objectives often contradicts and undermines environmental concerns. Long-term sustainable economic development must conserve the natural environment.

VISION:

We believe in a future of sustainable environmental conservation and an economically stable society.

OUR MISSION:

We develop a variety of projects in environmental conservation and livelihood development, to reduce local dependence on natural resources, through increased awareness and growing economic diversity.
